Are you pursuing a computer science or related degree and looking for an internship? Our team is looking for aspiring software engineers with completed computer programming coursework in languages such as Java and Python with knowledge or experience of SQL.

You will be supporting the TraCSS (Traffic Coordination System for Space) program which is building the next generation enterprise solution for space traffic coordination focusing on ensuring the safety of flight for all man-made objects in orbit. This position is located onsite in Colorado Springs. Remote work is not available.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a degree in computer science or related field (e.g., Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Sciences),

  • Completed at least two years of an undergraduate curriculum and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience developing software applications in Java

  • Must be comfortable taking the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in spoken English

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership ability through community or campus involvement. Candidates are expected to possess a positive team-first attitude, a willingness to learn, and strong initiative

Desired Skills

  • Familiar with object-oriented software design fundamentals using Java, C++, C#

  • Experience with agile software development techniques

  • Experience with IDE tools such as VS Code, IntelliJ, Eclipse

  • Knowledge of CM tools such as Git

  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes

  • Knowledge of relational SQL databases such as PostgresQL, Oracle

  • Knowledge of nosql databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra

  • Knowledge of workflow software such as Nifi, Camel, Mule

  • Knowledge of message bus software such as Kafka, ActiveMQ

Salary Range:

$21.44 - $37.55
