Job Information
SAIC Senior Systems Engineer in HILL AFB, Utah
Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced RAM Engineer to support the U.S. Air Force’s acquisition of the Sentinel Next Generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), formerly known as the Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD). As a RAM Engineer in this high-priority program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and maintainability of the Sentinel ICBM, providing technical expertise to support national defense. This role requires a strong background in systems engineering principles and RAM standards for complex, mission-critical systems.
In this role, you will serve as a key engineering authority on RAM considerations within the Sentinel ICBM acquisition team. You will be responsible for translating program requirements into actionable RAM parameters, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including systems engineering, logistics, cybersecurity, and safety. Your expertise will support high-level decision-making processes on design and maintenance strategies, ensuring the Sentinel system meets and exceeds operational requirements for the next generation of strategic deterrence.
Job Description:
Reliability Analysis: Perform in-depth reliability analyses to ensure system components meet high standards of dependability. Identify and address potential failure points and develop solutions that will maintain mission readiness over the system's lifecycle.
Availability Assessment: Assess system availability, including mean time to failure and mean time to repair, with a focus on maximizing operational readiness and mission capability. Work with cross-functional teams to implement designs that improve availability.
Maintainability Optimization: Conduct maintainability evaluations and ensure that design, support, and maintenance processes align with the program’s requirements for quick recovery and repair under operational conditions.
Data-Driven Decision Support: Provide decision support by analyzing field data, developing predictive models, and using statistical tools to ensure a proactive approach to reliability and maintainability.
Risk and Failure Analysis: Conduct Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and root cause analyses to identify risks, prioritize corrective actions, and ensure solutions align with program goals and standards.
Collaboration with Government and Industry Partners: Work closely with government representatives, defense contractors, and interdisciplinary engineering teams to address RAM requirements and ensure system performance aligns with mission objectives.
