Responsibilities This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021. This position is being filled under AcqDemo Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for non-acquisition positions involving 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions within Business and Technical Management Professional Career path. As a IT SPECIALIST (ENTARCH) at the NH-2210-3 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as an Enterprise Architect, developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with plans, policies, standards, infrastructures, and architecture framework to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise. Serves as a USTRANSCOM enterprise technical expert to oversee cloud-based technical, systems, and security requirements, objectives, specifications, and products Facilitates, coordinates, and integrates the development and evolution of the Command's Cyber Strategy and Architecture that promote interoperability and supportability Devises technical strategies, procedures, evaluation criteria, and policies to synchronize and align infrastructure and security related architecture activities Provides technical guidance and evaluates milestones for feasibility, technical integration, and interoperability of systems and subsystems Ensures cloud-sourced information security products and services are delivered to the government to meet or exceed statutory and regulatory requirements Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the NH 3 , if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-2 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Reviewing, analyzing, and recommending emerging technologies to meet mission objectives Drafting, developing, and implementing plans and procedures based on data-driven metrics Migrating to and operating / managing applications in a cloud environment Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210, series as listed below: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Additional Information Other Notes: Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification could result in removal from this position. Employee must meet continuing education and training requirements for IA certification. Failure to maintain the proper IA training could result in removal from this position.
